A conformal coating machine shields a populated board from moisture, dust, chemicals and vibration by laying a thin protective film over components and traces. Selective — versus dip or bulk spray — means the coating is programmed as a trajectory, so connectors, test points and heat sinks stay bare while the rest of the board is protected.
That is the difference an automated conformal coating machine makes on a real PCB conformal coating machine line: an automated selective spray machine with programmed trajectories instead of masking, dipping and praying.
